Siliguri, 12th August: Frequent accidents are being reported on Asian Highway-2 under Bagdogra Traffic Guard for the past few days. Various political parties and locals urged the administration to look into this matter.
Addressing the requests, the district administration conducted a campaign against illegal parking, encroachment of roads and imposed strict surveillance in the area.
Appreciating this move, sweets were distributed among the pedestrians on behalf of Congress today. Party’s leader Amitava Sarkar said, “We have demanded the administration to increase traffic surveillance on Asian Highway-2 and remove encroachments at Panighata more under Bagdogra Traffic Guard. Finally, our demands have been met. We thank the administration for this.”
