Rajganj, 29th June: The allegation of hanging condoms on the party flag has surfaced, prompting BJP leaders and workers to approach the police to report the incident. Party flags were installed in various locations to promote the Panchayat elections. However, it was discovered that condoms had been tied to a BJP party flag in the Shikarpur area of Rajganj, Jalpaiguri district. The BJP leadership has accused the Trinamool Congress of being responsible for this act.
A written complaint has been filed by the BJP at the local police station. According to the complaint, multiple party flags were set up in the area to support a BJP Panchayat candidate campaigning in Booth No. 51 of Depot Line under Shikarpur Gram Panchayat. Early in the morning, BJP workers noticed a condom hanging on one of the party flags.
Upon receiving the information, the police from the Belakoba Out Post immediately arrived at the scene. Nakul Das, the Kisan Morcha Jalpaiguri district president of the BJP, alleged that a member of the ruling Trinamool Congress party was responsible for this act. The incident has been reported to the police for further investigation. In response, Narayan Basak, the Trinamool Zonal President, stated that their party does not support such actions on any party’s flag. He dismissed the BJP’s allegations as baseless.
