Siliguri, 15th August: Gaurav Sharma, Commissioner of Siliguri Metropolitan Police, has taken various initiatives to develop the police infrastructure. Likewise, after numerous complaints regarding the need for a rest house for the women police were reported, the commissioner took initiative to solve the issues.
Sharma inaugurated a 10-bed women’s police barracks at NJP police station on Sunday. He also inaugurated the OC office. DCP Headquarter Amitabha Maiti, DCP Joy Tudu, OC of NJP Police station Samir Tamang and other police officials were present at the programme.
DCP Zone 1 Joy Tudu lauded Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma for taking the initiative of building the women’s barracks as soon as he took charge of the office. Emphasis has been laid on the construction of these barracks in all police stations and police outposts as soon as possible. He further said that there are some other problems which will be resolved soon.
