Rajganj, 16th December: A coal-laden trailer overturned on the roadside after the driver lost control late on Monday night in the Bandhunagar area of Rajganj, along the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway.
According to sources, the accident occurred at around 11:30 p.m. The trailer was travelling from Gujarat to Bhutan carrying a consignment of coal. Upon reaching the Bandhunagar stretch, the vehicle suddenly went out of control and overturned on the side of the road.
The trailer driver sustained minor injuries in the incident. Following information about the accident, police from Bhorer Alo police station rushed to the spot during the night. The injured driver was rescued and provided with primary medical treatment.
Work to remove the overturned trailer has been initiated. Police have begun an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
