Siliguri, 26th June: In response to strict instructions from the Chief Minister, authorities have begun addressing the encroachment of government land in various parts of Siliguri, including City Center.
On Wednesday, Pradhan Nagar police station spearheaded the action against unauthorized roadside shops from Hill Cart Road to Siliguri Junction and Gurung Basti. Several shops were instructed to be removed, and traders were cautioned of further raids if compliance was not met.
In addition, during the anti-encroachment drive, two individuals were arrested by Pradhan Nagar police on charges of obstructing government work.
