Naxalbari, 22nd March: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is set to kick-off her campaign for the upcoming assembly elections in North Bengal with a public rally in Naxalbari on 25th March.
The Chief Minister will address a gathering at the ground of Nand Prasad Balika Vidyalaya in support of Matigara-Naxalbari TMC candidate Sankar Malakar. Preparations for the event are in full swing.
Earlier on Sunday, a helipad was set up at the venue, and a successful trial run for helicopter landing was conducted, drawing a massive crowd of onlookers.
According to party sources, Chief Minister is expected to arrive at Bagdogra Airport around 2:00 PM. From there, she will travel by helicopter to the rally site in Naxalbari.
In addition to the Naxalbari rally, the Chief Minister is also scheduled to address public meetings in Dabgram-Fulbari and Maynaguri as part of her campaign.
