Siliguri, 11th August: Siliguri Junction GRP have achieved a successful breakthrough by apprehending the wife of a civic volunteer on charges of allegedly trafficking minors. The police have also taken into custody several other individuals on charges of involvement in smuggling activities.
The incident unfolded with allegations of a plan to smuggle two minors from Ward No. 04 to Delhi. Swiftly responding to the complaint lodged at the Siliguri Junction GRP, the police promptly arrested two suspects, namely Mohammad Naseeruddin and Saheda Ansari. Following intensive interrogation of the detainees, two minors were successfully rescued from NJP (New Jalpaiguri) on Friday.
During the ongoing investigation, three more women were apprehended. The arrested individuals have been identified as Suhana Ansari, Zarina Begum, and Zaigun Nisha Ansari. Notably, Zaigun Nisha Ansari is reported to be the wife of a civic volunteer who is presently associated with the Siliguri Police Commissionerate. All of the arrestees reside in Ward No. 04. The three accused will be presented before the Siliguri Court on the subsequent day for legal proceedings.
