Kharibari, 10th August: In a tragic incident, a civic volunteer lost life in a road accident in Kharibari. The deceased has been identified as Narendra Nath Singh, a resident of Jorpokhri Jote in Buraganj.
As per reports, Narendra Nath was on his way home after duty in Chakkarmari adjoining area of Banchabhita in Kharibari on a two-wheeler during which he lost control and crashed on the National Highway (NH). Subsequently, the locals rushed to rescue and transported the injured to Kharibari Rural Hospital. Later, he was referred to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), where he breathe his last.
On Thursday, after the post-mortem examination, the body was taken to Kharibari Police Station where the last tribute was paid to the deceased. Meanwhile, after the body was transported to his home, an atmosphere of mourning prevailed among distressed family members and relatives. In this regard, Rabindra Nath Singh, the elder brother of the deceased, urged the administration for help.
