The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is conducting a raid at the residence of Bengal minister Firhad Hakim in Kolkata due to alleged irregularities in civic body recruitment.
According to reports, Hakim holds the Urban Development and Municipal Affairs portfolio and is also the Mayor of Kolkata. Significantly, former TMC minister and Kamarhati MLA, Madan Mitra, is currently the target of raids by the CBI at his residences in Bhawanipur. The Calcutta High Court ordered the CBI to conduct an investigation into the suspected corruption in West Bengal under court supervision. Hakim’s house is currently surrounded by a team of CRPF personnel.
Additionally, the CBI is conducting raids at the residences of TMC leaders and state Food and Supplies Minister Rathin Ghosh.
