Siliguri, 29th January: The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) held a protest in Siliguri on Thursday demanding justice for workers who died in a fire at the Wow Momo warehouse in Kolkata. The demonstration was held outside the company’s outlet near Baghajatin Park and was led by CITU Darjeeling district general secretary Gautam Ghosh.
The fire at the Kolkata warehouse on 26th January claimed the lives of several employees, with some workers still reported missing. CITU demanded strict action against those responsible for the incident and called for immediate and adequate compensation for the affected families.
