Kharibari, 20th July: A Chinese national was apprehended at Pantanki on the Indo-Nepal border. The individual has been identified as Younghin Peng (39) and hails from the Gandong region of China. He was attempting to enter India from Nepal on Wednesday when he was detained by the SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal) jawans due to suspicious behaviour.
Following the detention, a thorough interrogation was conducted and Peng was arrested. During the search, SSB jawans recovered various Chinese items, a Nepal passport, a Nepali Citizen ID card, a mobile phone and currency notes from different countries from the accused. The apprehended individual was presented before the Siliguri Divisional Court today where the police sought remand for further investigation.
