Siliguri, 20th November: On Friday afternoon, several Chhath puja devotees offered puja at various river ghats in Siliguri. The puja will continue till tomorrow morning.
However, this year, in view of the ongoing pandemic, several precautionary measures were adopted. Some offered puja at home and prepared artificial reservoirs at their residences or in fields.
Compared to other years, lesser crowds were spotted at various river ghats in Siliguri. Police have also been keeping strict surveillance and awareness camps were also held on behalf of the organizers as well as the puja committees to ensure every single person wears a mask and no mass gatherings take place.
The puja devotees worshipped at various places including Mahananda Lalmohan Moulik Niranjan Ghat, Noukaghat, Mahananda river near Champasari, and many more.
