Siliguri, 07th February: Sensation prevailed in the Samarnagar area of Siliguri Municipal Corporation’s Ward No. 46 after a burnt dead body of an elderly woman was sighted, this morning. It has been reported that the body was completely burnt due to which the body could not be identified initially.
Locals informed the Pradhan Nagar Police about the incident. After investigation, the police identified the body as Pratima Saha (48), a resident of the area.
According to information received from the family members of the deceased, she was mentally disabled. The police recovered the body and sent it to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for an autopsy and have started investigating the incident.
