Siliguri, 17th December: Central trade union federations and the United Kisan Morcha conducted a protest march on Wednesday demanding various rights and entitlements, culminating in a sit-in at the Provident Fund (PF) office.
Members of several labour and farmer organisations participated in the protest, highlighting issues related to workers’ welfare, PF-related demands, and the protection of farmers’ rightful interests.
The organisers demanded the swift implementation of benefits and facilities due to workers and called for permanent solutions to the problems faced by farmers.
They warned that if their demands were not addressed promptly, they would escalate the agitation and launch a larger movement in the coming days.
