On Thursday, the Calcutta High Court (HC) directed for the Central Forces to remain deployed in the state for 10 days after the declaration of the results of the West Bengal Panchayat election. The results of the rural polls are to be declared on the 11th of July. Reportedly, the directive came while hearing a plea made by the leader of the opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari for the deployment of Central forces to curb the prevalence of post-poll violence.
