Siliguri, 06th October: After landing at Bagdogra Airport from Delhi on Wednesday morning, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Kailash Choudhary said that like the rest of the country, the central government is putting special emphasis on agricultural development in North East India.
BJP leaders and activists welcomed the minister at the airport to the beats of tribal music and dance. MPs Jayanta Roy, Arun Mandal, Manik Singh and others were present.
Minister Kailash Choudhary asserted that the central government is working together on how to integrate North East India with the rest of the country. “Sikkim is one of the best in the country for organic farming. Besides, the centre is working to make the farmers self-reliant and double the income of the farmers,” he added.
