Cash worth Rs 40,000 stolen from a woman’s bag at Siliguri Railway Station 

Siliguri, 07th November: Markets, railway stations, roads and public places have become a nest for pickpocketers and thieves. Taking advantage of public places and crowds, such miscreants carry out their notorious plans. They have different ways to carry out their plans of stealing valuables. Sometimes by cutting bags or by stealthily opening the zip of the purse.
Such a case of stealing has come fore from the Siliguri Junction station. Reportedly Shobha Devi, a resident near Bhutan border, had come to Siliguri to shop for her daughter’s wedding. After coming out from the station she was shocked to see that the zip of her bag was open and cash of Rs 40,000 kept in the bag was missing. After the incident, Shobha Devi narrated her ordeal to her family members in Siliguri.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, the GRP informed the police about the matter. According to Shobha Devi, even after getting off the train, she had the cash with her in the bag. But after she came out of the platform, she saw that the money was missing. However, this case is not new in the city. Many such incidents have been carried out before at the same station by thieves. The investigation of the entire incident has been started.
