Siliguri, 28th January: A four-wheeler lost control on Monday night in the Purba Chayanpara area of Siliguri’s Eastern Bypass, leading to another accident in the locality.
According to reports, the vehicle first hit a biker and then rammed into a pushcart, causing it to overturn. The shopkeeper near the pushcart narrowly escaped but sustained minor injuries, along with the biker. The driver of the car fled the scene immediately after the incident.
Locals alleged that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and expressed frustration over the absence of traffic lights in the area, claiming it as a recurring cause of accidents.
The police from Ashighar Outpost reached the spot upon receiving information and are investigating the incident.
