Siliguri, 17th March: In a recent development, a candidate appearing the WBPSC Food Sub Inspector (Food SI) examination was detained by the Siliguri police station with an electronic device from the examination center. Currently, the police are engaged in an interrogation of the candidate.
According to reports, the examination of Food SI has been conducted in the state. During the examination on Sunday, a candidate was allegedly cheating with the help of an electronic device inside the Tarai Tarapada Adarsha Vidyalaya examination centre. The act was spotted by the invigilator present in the examination center. Fearing of being caught, the candidate threw the device out of the window.
Subsequently, the matter was reported to the police. Later, the police arrived at the centre and recovered the electronic device. After the examination was over, the police took the candidate into custody and transported him to the Siliguri police station.
It is to be noted that on Saturday, three police stations under the jurisdiction of the Siliguri Metropolitan Police arrested five candidates for cheating at the examination with electronic devices.
