Phansidewa, 16th February: A businessman from Siliguri allegedly jumped into the Teesta Canal at Kashiram Jote in Phansidewa after leaving a note behind on Sunday.
Following the incident, police and disaster management personnel launched a search operation in the canal. Despite conducting a day-long search yesterday, the teams were unable to trace him.
The businessman has been identified as Manoj Kumar Dalmia. The search operation resumed again on Monday morning in the Teesta Canal area as efforts continue to locate him.
