Phansidewa, 15th February: A businessman from Siliguri’s Milanpally, identified as Manoj Kumar Dalmia, jumped into the Teesta canal at Kashiram Jote after leaving a note, creating widespread shock in the area.
As news of the incident spread, crowds began gathering at the site. Phansidewa police rushed to the scene, and family members also arrived. To facilitate the recovery of the body, authorities closed all lock gates of the Teesta canal. Disaster management teams have begun efforts to retrieve the body.
A note was recovered from the businessman’s scooty at the scene. Phansidewa police have launched a full investigation into the incident.
