Businessman beaten, over two lakh looted on national highway in Phansidewa

Phansidewa, 13th February: A shocking incident occurred on Thursday night near Buri Balason Bridge on National Highway 27 in Phansidewa, where a businessman was assaulted and ₹2.6 lakh was stolen. The victim, identified as Mohammad Rozab Ali, a resident of Jhankalal Jote’s Gwal Jote area, was a paddy trader.


Rozab Ali was carrying ₹2.6 lakh in a school bag to pay another trader, Uttam Singha of Kharibari, when three assailants on two motorcycles blocked his way near Lichu Bagan. They threw his motorbike key into the bushes and struck him on the head with a helmet before fleeing towards Ghoshpukur with the money bag.

Police from Phansidewa and Ghoshpukur reached the spot after receiving information. The injured businessman was taken to Phansidewa Rural Hospital for primary treatment. The police have launched a full investigation into the incident.
