Kalchini, 06th November: Sensation prevailed in the area of Dalsingpara in Kalchini when a person died after being hit by a bus. The deceased has been identified as Tek Bahadur Bhujel, a resident of Gopal Bahadur Basti.
Reportedly, Gopal Bahadur had gone to a shop on Saturday night. While returning home, a bus heading to Hasimara on the Asian Highway to Bhutan hit him and fled away after the incident.
After this, the locals rescued him and took him to Uttar Latabari Rural Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during the treatment. Today, Kalchini Police recovered the body and sent it to Alipurduar District Hospital for post-mortem. Police have started investigation into the whole matter.
