Rajganj, 17th June: A horrifying accident occurred today in the Talma area, along the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway, as both front wheels of a passenger bus suddenly came off while the vehicle was in motion.
The incident took place this morning when a passenger bus, en route from Siliguri to Cooch Behar. The loss of the front wheels caused the bus to overturn and plunge into a nearby reservoir, leading to injuries among the passengers.
According to local sources, the bus was carrying a considerable number of passengers at the time of the accident. Rajganj police rushed to the scene and extricated the injured individuals from the overturned bus and promptly transported them to Jalpaiguri Super Specialist Hospital and a private hospital in Fulbari for medical treatment.
The exact number of casualties and the severity of injuries sustained by the passengers are yet to be determined. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident to ascertain the cause of the wheel detachment and whether it was due to any mechanical failure or negligence.
