Siliguri, 07th June: A burglary at a house in the Kalkut area adjacent to Champasari Himkosh Bhawan under Pradhan Nagar Police Station has caused a stir.
It has been learned that the burglary took place at the house of Satyanarayan Prasad Rawat, a resident of the Kalkut area. On May 19, Prasad went out of town with his family members. The miscreants broke into the back door of the house and fled away with gold and silver jewellery, cash, and other valuables.
The matter came to the notice of the owner today. After that, the incident was reported to the Pradhan Nagar police. Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
Lakshmi Devi Rawat, the owner of the house, said that the incident occurred when she was out of town to attend her father’s funeral. The thieves fled away with cash and jewelry and land documents.
