Siliguri, 10th December: Burglary was attempted at the house of Ashok Bhattacharya last night. However, after a family member caught them red-handed, the robbers hurriedly fled away leaving the stolen goods in the house garden.
Upon receiving the news, the Siliguri police reached Bhattacharya’s house on Wednesday night. A large police force of the Siliguri Metropolitan Police reached the spot on Thursday afternoon. They used dogs to search the entire house and garden area. Following which, the police suspected that the thieves must have escaped to Fuleshwari or Dabgram through the Matri Sadan road.
The police have started an investigation by collecting CCTV footage of the area.
Ashok Bhattacharya’s relative Arkadeep Bhattacharya said that the burglars broke into the house on Wednesday midnight and tried to flee away with several old utensils.
