Cooch Behar, 03rd December: Stir arose in Cooch Behar’s Khagrabari area after thieves burgled a professor’s residence.
Reportedly, Professor Rumpa Roy of the Department of Philosophy of Cooch Behar College lives with her mother. She came to Siliguri on December 24. On returning home on Tuesday, she learned about the theft. Cash worth thousands of rupees including gold jewellery worth lakhs of rupees are missing from the house.
After this, the Pundibari police were notified and a team of cops reached the spot and started investigating the incident. According to family sources, a similar theft took place in the same house three years ago as well.
