News Desk: Daljit Singh Chaudhary, IPS, Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), along with Ravi Gandhi, Additional Director General of Eastern Command, and Maninder P. S. Pawar, IPS, Inspector General of South Bengal Frontier, visited ICP Petrapole and the highly sensitive Ranaghat Border Outpost of the 68th Battalion on the Indo-Bangladesh border in North 24 Parganas District.
The primary objective of the visit was to assess the tactical and operational preparedness and deployment strategies of the BSF at these critical locations, especially in light of recent developments in Bangladesh.
At ICP Petrapole, the Director General and ADG Eastern Command inspected the Passenger and Cargo Terminals, reviewing the complex operational challenges faced by the troops. The Officiating Commanding Officer of the 145th Battalion briefed the DG on the battalion’s operational procedures, and they also toured the new ICP building.
Following this, DG Choudhary visited the Ranaghat Border Outpost of the 68th Battalion, where he held a meeting with BSF officers to review the current situation in Bangladesh and discuss strategies to combat illegal infiltration and smuggling. The Director General emphasized the need for increased vigilance and effective measures to address these challenges.
At the conclusion of the visit, DG Choudhary addressed the officers and jawans in a Sainik Sammelan, discussing the current situation in Bangladesh and issuing clear instructions for preparedness to handle any situation. He highlighted the importance of border readiness given the challenging conditions in Bangladesh and urged the personnel to remain alert and prepared for any emerging scenarios.
