BSF apprehends cannabis smuggler on Indo-Bangladesh border

Dakshin Dinajpur, 24th September: In a significant breakthrough, the personnel of Chakbanshi Border Out Post (BOP) of 57th Battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) of Raiganj Sector of North Bengal Frontier stationed on Indo-Bangladesh border apprehended an Indian smuggler identified as Liton Das (33), with 12kg of cannabis. The information was revealed by the BSF through a press release.


According to the BSF, the accused was spotted wandering on the Indo-Bangladesh border. Based on suspicion, he was apprehended and searched. Following this, 12 kg of cannabis was retrieved from his possession. The accused intended to cleverly smuggle the cannabis from India to Bangladesh. Subsequently, the arrested accused was handed over to the Patiram police station along with the seized cannabis.
