Siliguri, 12th June: An incident of violent assault has surfaced in Siliguri. Jiten Prasad was allegedly brutally beaten last Sunday near Siliguri Junction in Ward No. 01. The injured individual was immediately admitted to a private hospital on Burdwan Road.
According to reports, the police arrested two suspects, Arun Sahni and Ravi Sahni, a day after the incident. However, the main accused, Krishna Sahni, remains at large, with police actively searching for him. The attack appears motivated by a longstanding enmity between Krishna Sahni and Jiten Prasad.
Jiten’s family revealed that, on Sunday, as Jiten was returning home from work, he was ambushed with sticks, knives, and batons by Krishna Sahni and his associates, resulting in severe injuries. They added that Krishna Sahni and his gang perpetrated the assault to assert their dominance and control in the area.
The incident has raised questions about the police administration’s response, especially after CCTV footage of the attack surfaced.
