Rajganj, 27th January: A brazen theft was reported from Salguri village in Rajganj after miscreants targeted a house while the family had gone to attend an SIR hearing.
According to reports, Salguri resident Ziarul Haque had gone to the Chathat area with his wife Afsana Begum on Monday for an SIR-related hearing. Taking advantage of the house being empty, miscreants carried out a daring burglary.
On returning home on Tuesday afternoon, Ziarul Haque found the house window open. Looking inside, he saw broken cupboards and furniture lying scattered. He stated that the almirahs had been ransacked and that gold jewellery along with around ₹70,000 in cash had been stolen, with the total loss estimated at over ₹1 lakh.
The incident was reported to the police, and an investigation has been initiated by Bhorer Alo police station.
