Siliguri, 21st December: Panic gripped the residents after an incident of brazen snatching surfaced from the Baribhasa area adjacent to Siliguri. The miscreants allegedly fled with thousands of rupees in cash and mobile phones.
According to reports, on Wednesday night, two individuals named Bhanudeb Barman and Shyamal Kumar Roy were walking home from NJP Railway Station in the Thiknikata area of Adarsh Pally. During this, four miscreants allegedly chased them in the Baribhasa area, assaulted them, and fled with thousands of rupees, including their mobile phones.
Following the incident, a formal complaint was lodged at NJP police station on Thursday. Based on the complaint, the police initiated an investigation and are currently on a hunt to apprehend the suspects.
