Siddhant Chhetri, hailing from Bijanbari in Darjeeling, was martyred during a terrorist attack in the Rajouri sector of Kashmir. The encounter between terrorists and security forces claimed the lives of five soldiers, including Siddhant. Having previously served as a Para Commando and later as 9 Para SK in 2019, Siddhant displayed exceptional dedication and bravery throughout his military career.
Today, Siddhant’s mortal remain was brought from Delhi to Bagdogra Airport and transferred to the Bengdubi Army Cantonment, where a poignant ceremony took place to honour his sacrifice. Tributes were paid to the fallen soldier with full military honours, reflecting the deep respect and gratitude for his service.
The news of Siddhant Chhetri’s untimely demise has cast a pall of gloom over the Kijam Basti area of Bijanbari. The community mourns the loss of a brave son who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Siddhant’s dedication, courage, and sacrifice will forever be remembered by his family, friends, and the entire community of Darjeeling.
