Rajganj, 13th June: Indo Bangladesh cross border trade of stone boulder through the Fulbari Border Check Post commenced today. The exportation began under the aegis of the traders of both countries as well as with the consent of the administration.
As per the report, no goods will be imported from Bangladesh at the moment and the boulder will only be sent via Bhutan and West Bengal.
According to traders, the export of goods is being conducted following all COVID-19 protocols. Boulder-filled vehicles will reportedly be sanitized and the drivers will only be allowed to cross border after undergoing health checkup. At present, the administration has allowed a total of 100 trucks to ply from Bhutan and West Bengal in a day.
According to sources, after the boulder-laden truck enters Bangladesh, the drivers will only be allowed to get off the truck only if they are carrying dry food and essential items with them. The process of loading and unloading will be carried out by maintaining social distance.
In this regard, a BSF official stated that boulder exports have been resumed through the Fulbari Border Check Post with the permission of the District Magistrate. Strict sanitary regulations have been launched to check whether all protocols are being followed by the boulder trucks while traveling to and fro Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, the traders, truck drivers and people associated with the trade have expressed happiness over the reopening of the boulder exports after a prolonged period of time.
