Islampur, 26th August: Sensation prevailed after a body with a slit-throat was recovered from the Sonamoti area in Indo-Bangladesh border of Islampur police station under Uttar Dinajpur district. The deceased has been identified as Bishwanath Sinha. He used to work at a tea shop in the said area.
The son of the deceased said that his father went to the market after work, late in the evening. However, he did not return home. The following morning, locals spotted Bishwanath’s body lying in the Sonamoti area.
The police recovered the body and sent it to Islampur Sub-Divisional Hospital. An investigation has been launched into the whole incident.
