Phansidewa, 09th February: Sensation spread in Phansidewa after the body of an unidentified person was recovered.
According to sources, local residents spotted the half-disrobed body near the power house of the Mahananda Canal at Jhamkalal Jote in Phansidewa and immediately informed the police.
On receiving the information, police from Phansidewa police station reached the spot and recovered the body. The remains were later sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for post-mortem examination.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been ascertained. Police said an investigation has been initiated to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
