Rajganj, 21st September: During the immersion of Lord Vishwakarma a man got washed away in the Fulbari barrage. The man was identified as Chunchun Sahni, a resident of Bagrakote. After three days of search, his body has been finally recovered from the Fulbari Mahanada Canal.
It is to be known that on Sunday evening, a group of devotees from Siliguri had gone to the Fulbari Mahananda barrage to immerse the idol of Lord Vishwakarma. After the immersion, they were having a picnic. After this, while taking a bath, Chunchun Sahni, a resident of Bagrakote, Ward No. 18 of Siliguri, got washed away in the river.
The Disaster Management Group and the Phansidewa Police started a search for him. Today, after three days of the incident, Chunchun Sahani’s body was recovered in Fulbari Mahananda Canal. On the other hand, as soon as the information about the incident was received, the police and family reached the spot. Police have taken the body into their possession and sent it for post-mortem.
