Cooch Behar, 11th May: Sensation prevailed after the lifeless body of an individual was recovered from the Sankosh River under the Falimari Gram Panchayat (GP). The deceased has been identified as Jayanta Hembram, a 45-year-old resident of Assam, who was reportedly struggling with mental health issues.
As per reports, local residents spotted the body on Saturday and promptly alerted the authorities. Upon receiving the news, the police from Jorai Outpost swiftly arrived at the scene and successfully retrieved the body from the river.
According to statements from the deceased’s family, Jayanta Hembram had been suffering from mental instability. He had gone missing on May 8 after leaving his residence and could not be located until his body was found. The police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Jayanta Hembram’s death.
