Cooch Behar, 18th July: The body of Shahil Alam, a 19-year-old engineering student who drowned in the river was recovered this morning. According to local sources, the boy got swept away when he had gone to bathe in the Padnat River of Balaghat area under Chilakhana-02 Gram Panchayat at around 2 pm on Friday.
Upon receiving the news, the team of Tufanganj Police and Civil Defense reached the spot. Despite searching in the river for two whole days, no trace of the student was found. Following this, the locals spotted the body of Shahil in the Gadadhar River of Deocharai Santoshpur area of the Tufanganj division this morning. The police reached the spot and recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem.
