Siliguri, 29th June: Sensation prevailed after the body of a newborn was recovered from the banks of the Mahananda River in Ward No. 02 Baghajatin Colony of Siliguri Municipal Corporation, this morning.
According to the information, locals sighted the newborn’s body this morning and informed the Pradhan Nagar police. Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for an autopsy.
ACP West Chandan Das was also present at the spot. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
