Siliguri, 18th September: The body of a 50-year old man was found hanging from a noose inside the campus of North Bengal University. The deceased has been identified as Suchitro Sarkar, resident of Nirmal Jote in Rangapani.
Reportedly, Sarkar stepped out of his residence last Tuesday, following which, he went missing. A missing complaint was lodged at Phansidewa police station. Sarkar used to trade fish.
According to local sources, the locals sighted the body inside the forest and informed the police. The Matigara police reached the spot shortly after and recovered the body.
After this incident, many people are raising questions about security inside the university premises.
Meanwhile, MLA Anandamoy Barman reached the spot after receiving the news. He raised questions about the security inside the university and requested the university authorities to look into the matter.
