Alipurduar, 8th October: On Sunday, the Falakata Sports Academy organized a one-day knockout sailing competition in the Mujnai River of Falakata.
According to reports, this was the second year of organizing the sailing tournament. The event witnessed a sizable crowd present to observe sixteen competitors participating in the contest. Subhash Chandra Roy, the assistant chairman of the Falakata Panchayat Samiti, Pradeep Kumar Muhuri, and others were present during the event.
In this regard, Prabir Roy Chowdhury, the secretary of the Falakata Sports Academy, stated that the goal of organizing this sailing tournament was to revive the community’s declining sports. He further expressed that the event received a positive review and is anticipated to be held annually.
