Siliguri, 06th February: Panic spread in the Matigara area of Siliguri after the blood-soaked body of an unidentified young woman was found lying beside the railway tracks near Chamta Bridge. The body was spotted on Thursday night by local residents, who immediately informed the police.
On receiving the information, personnel from Siliguri Town GRP rushed to the spot and recovered the body. It was later sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for post-mortem examination.
According to preliminary findings, the young woman may have died after being hit by a train. However, the police are investigating whether the incident was an accident or a case of suicide.
