Siliguri, 14th February: Sensation ensued when a blood-soaked body of an unidentified person was found near the Hanuman temple in the Mallaguri area of Siliguri.
Reportedly, the devotees who had come to offer prayers at the temple today saw a man lying on the ground in a pool of blood on the roadside near the temple. The Pradhan Nagar police station was informed about it and cops reached the spot and recovered the body and sent it to Siliguri District Hospital.
As per the recent developments, police have learned that the deceased used to beg for alms in front of the temple. He was seen roaming around in the area till Monday evening. Locals speculated that he also used to take drugs and this might have been a case of a deal that went wrong. Several injury marks have been found on the deceased. Cops are investigating the matter based on CCTV footage installed at the temple and nearby traffic point.
