Siliguri, 12th December: Sensation prevailed after the blood-soaked body of a mentally ill youth was recovered from Baikunthapur forest under Siliguri Metropolitan Ashighar Out Post. The deceased has been identified as Ram Prasad Saha.
According to sources, Ram Prasad had gone to the forest this afternoon. He was battling with drug abuse and was mentally ill. As soon as the news of the incident was received, the Ashighar Out Post cops reached the spot and recovered the body and sent it to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for postmortem.
According to police sources, Ram Prasad had several injury marks on his face. They suspect he was hit hard on his face with a stone most probably during a quarrel with someone or he might have tripped while walking and may have hit the stone. The cause of death will be revealed only after the post mortem report. The police are probing the entire matter.
