Siliguri, 18th April: Under the “Fire Safety Week” a blood donation camp was organized under the aegis of Siliguri Fire Department and in collaboration with Siliguri Suryanagar Samaj Kalyan Sanstha.
The Fire Safety Week, scheduled from April 14th to 20th, focuses on providing fire extinguishing training to commercial establishments such as schools, colleges, and homes. This initiative aims to raise awareness about fire safety and educate participants on fire prevention measures, proper use of fire extinguishers, evacuation procedures, and other essential fire safety practices.
During this, Dewan Lepcha Divisional Fire Officer, Darjeeling Division and other fire officers were present. 80 units of blood were collected in this camp which will be sent to Siliguri District Hospital. In this regard, Diwan Lepcha highlighted that firefighters are committed to serving the community throughout the year. In a new initiative to save lives, the department organized a blood donation camp. This noble effort showcases the selflessness and dedication of firefighters in not only firefighting but also in contributing to the well-being of the people they serve.
