Siliguri, 27th July: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a shortage of blood is being witnessed across the hospitals in Siliguri.
In this regard, a blood donation camp was organized on Monday at the Siliguri SDO office under the initiative of the Indian Red Cross Society and Rotary Blood Bank.
While a target has been set to collect 40 units of blood during the camp, 30 units have been collected so far.
Siliguri SDO Sumanta Sahay stated that the camp was conducted with an objective to tackle the shortage of blood being witnessed in Siliguri District Hospital due to the pandemic.
In this situation, the SDO urged the general public and various voluntary organizations to donate blood and organize blood donation camps.
