Jalpaiguri, 23rd November: Amid personal grief, Biraj Kumar Sarkar, BLO of booth 17/219 at Nandanpur-Bowalmari Gram Panchayat in Jalpaiguri, has continued performing his duties in the ongoing SIR exercise despite the recent death of his father. The administration has extended support to him during this challenging time.
BLOs across various regions have been under immense pressure due to the SIR work, with some falling ill or, in extreme cases, taking drastic steps due to stress.
However, Biraj Kumar Sarkar, a primary school teacher by profession like his late father, has shown remarkable dedication.
Even though he was entitled to take leave following his father’s death, Sarkar chose to resume work immediately after completing the funeral rites. His commitment and sense of responsibility have earned him appreciation from administrative officials, who have lauded his exceptional dedication during the SIR process.
