BJP stages road blockade protest in Fulbari over attack on Suvendu Adhikari’s convoy

Fulbari, 06th August: BJP workers staged a road blockade and protest in Fulbari on Wednesday, condemning the recent attack on the convoy of West Bengal Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari in Cooch Behar.

The protest took place near the Fulbari Battalion More area, where BJP workers set tyres on fire and raised slogans. Dabgram-Fulbari MLA Sikha Chatterjee joined the protest, demanding the immediate arrest of the attackers. The protesters also called for the arrest of minister incharge of police department, and North Bengal Development Minister Udayan Guha.

Reportedly, a large police force reached the spot, and the blockade was lifted following their intervention.

The incident in question occurred on Tuesday when Suvendu Adhikari visited the Cooch Behar SP’s office over an attack on BJP MLAs. As his convoy reached Khagrabari Chowpathi, protestors blocked the road, raised slogans, and allegedly broke the window of Adhikari’s car.

In response, BJP leaders have organised demonstrations across the state, including in Fulbari.
