Fulbari, 28th April: Tensions flared up in Fulbari as BJP supporters blocked the road in support of the 12-hour Bengal bandh, leading to the detention of several activists by the police. The state BJP had called for the strike in the wake of the Kaliyaganj incident.
This morning, the party workers and supporters gathered at Batallion More and Battala More in Fulbari to stage a road blockade. However, the police of New Jalpaiguri police station arrived at the scene and detained many protesters. The road blockade caused disruptions and tensions in the area.
